[[Transparency]] (Update) Last Friday, 4/8/2016, I shared with you all

that I was feeling a bit rundown and solicited your prayers. Funny thing

about Faith, we never know HOW it will be fixed, just that it WILL BE

fixed. In this scenario my situation has not changed one bit...but my

perspective, my outlook, and my faith have been properly calibrated.

The situation wasn't fixed, I was. How did this happen? You. The

comments that came from my family, friends, and FB faithful stood me

up, dusted me off, and straightened my collar. Partly because of the

words you posted, but mostly because of the incredible stories your

faces forced me to recall. We've gone on so many victorious journeys.

In your faces I'm reminded of some very desperate situations that we've

walked through together...Divorce, Death of family members, job losses,

Lupus, loss of faith, Cancer, career concerns, confusion, wayward

children, depression, isolation...all very serious challenges that we

overcame together. I remember the numerous, long, painful

conversations, by phone, by email, in person...I remember the

breakthroughs and your faces refreshed my memory of the

victories, countless victories. Together. Thank you.

Clovis Polk, Jr.

(Sunrise: June 15, 1953 - Sunset: September 19, 2016)

a faithful accomplished musician in the Dallas area who

served with a humble and gentle spirit.

Kudos to the many fabulous musicians, directors, singers, and various

music servants who stood in the gap for combined state music over the

years in Houston and Dallas for national service, i.e. WIC (Women's International Convention), AIM (Auxiliaries In Ministry), Bishops' National Conference, etc. Texas is one of the last states to get official recognition

from IMD (International Music Department) as a regional entity with a

nationally designated name, although some regions are over 30 yrs. old.

We are late, but we have not been MIA (Missing In Action), having

national officers as far back as the fabulous Madames Betty Hawley,

Bettye Nelson and Eld. Chad McCree on staff with iconic Dr. Mattie

Moss Clark. Our new challenge is the same as YP (Youth President)

regional President Andrew Jackson, strategizing a state merger across

the 2nd largest geographical area in the U.S.: i.e. "TEXAS",

now with about 16 jurisdictions instead of the original few.

Watch out COGIC, Texas Southern Central is now on the national map!
